Opportunity to put theory (course work knowledge and skills) into action
Opportunity to “learn the work” in a safe environment—management and leadership
Opportunity to gain confidence in your ability to “do the work” and to “see yourself doing the work”
Opportunity to network with other professionals—networking and sponsorship
Opportunity to reflect on the role and the work
Opportunity to clarify if “this work” is the right work for you
Opportunity to better figure out how to balance your life (personal, professional, and internship)

The handbook is intended to have the information you need for your internship, including forms, rubrics, etc.
You will be sent a revised handbook when it is ready for distribution—(soon, hopefully).

Complete “Standards Self-Inventory,” review Standards Self-Inventory with mentor, begin to identify (draft) possible projects (one for each of the state standards)
(data, school improvement plan, aligns with WCEAP suggested products, connects with state standards)
Begin work on Learning Environment Profile (LEP)
Join AWSP--internship membership
Register for Welcome to Your Internship—July 21 @ ESD, Tumwater
Meet with your mentor to determine when to report in August; plan on August 1
