DRUPAL IS FOR RICH CONTENT

"More than 400 large museum's websites use Drupal for their CMS. Why is that? ... Drupal is far more stable than other similar systems. You want a reliable website on which your visitor can rely on for their information."

- Museum website design house (2016)

WORDPRESS IS FOR BLOGS

The most popular CMSs are WordPress, Joomla and Drupal. While WordPress is more suited for blogs, it does have the ability to host entire websites, particularly for smaller organizations.

Joomla is a good option for small and mid-sized websites; however, for larger websites with extensive amounts of content, Drupal is more powerful and capable.

THE CHANGING VOICE OF AUTHORITY

"The model of the museum curator who stands in front of an object and interprets the meaning for a passive audience is no longer relevant.

“As a result, the role of museum professionals is changing to reflect the need to guide visitors in finding, interpreting, and making their own connections with collections and ideas.”

- NMC Horizon Report: 2016 Museum Edition

A NEW VOICE OF AUTHORITY

"Museums are deconstructing, piece by piece, the authoritarian model that presumes control of what people see, what they learn and how they learn it.”
