› Engineering 20 years ago vs. skill set/education needed now – Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree required for any Engineering position with Continental.
› Mechanical Engineers need to have strong mathematical comprehension and the ability to trouble shoot problems. They have to understand how outside strains and forces influence material behavior.
› Chemical Engineers need to have a strong mathematical comprehension and the ability to trouble shoot problems. They have to understand how different chemicals react with one another, how heat and pressure affects the different chemicals, and how mixed compound reacts to the steels and textiles that make up a tire.
› Beyond a college degree and the above skills, the real requirement is the interest and willingness to learn more and work hard to advance.
› Using STEM to spark students’ interest in hands on, lucrative careers
