SUPER SERVICE CHALLENGEFALL 2013

Volunteering at TROT in Tucson, Arizona

We are part of a large team of volunteers who give their time to Therapeutic Riding of Tucson (TROT).

TROT uses horsemanship as a form of therapy for children and adults with special needs.

Riders usually have a trio of adults helping them: a horse handler who leads the horse and two others who walk beside the horse, helping the rider learn as they enjoy their riding lesson.

In early October, when our regular class of riders had a break, we dug up an old, neglected flower garden.

We planted flowers to attract hummingbirds and butterflies.

We also installed a drip irrigation system to provide water to each plant and help it thrive in our desert heat.
