What is Infrared Thermography

Infrared Thermography (IR) operates by measuring the infrared energy

of any object’s surface and producing a detailed visual image showing

its temperature profile.

Since IR operates without physical contact, it offers operators a safe,

on-line, and cost-effective means to evaluate the electrical operation of

any property.

Why Infrared?

•Why does Infrared Work?

Excessive heat frequently indicates potential problems in

Electrical & Mechanical environments. Corrosion, Resistance

and Friction all create heat…

Why is Infrared a Useful Diagnostic/Safety Tool….

Why Thermal Imaging for Safety?

1. Alerting you of potential Dangers

2. Minimizing potential Fire hazards

3. Eliminating Electric Shock

–Only when working live

4. Identifying hidden moisture or other environmental

conditions
