IETF  RFC  1983:  

 hacker              A  person  who            delights  in  having  an  inJmate  understanding  of  the  internal  workings  of  a  system.  

According  to  the  "hacker  ethic,"  a  hack  must:  •  be  safe  •  not  damage  anything  •  not  damage  anyone,  

either  physically,  mentally  or  emoJonally  •  be  funny,  

at  least  to  most  of  the  people  who  experience  it
