DISCUSSION

Which of these shapes would you think is the best one to become a successful

business owner/manager?

PERSONALITYPERSONALITY TESTSTESTS

The Type Dynamics Indicator (TDI) gives an assessment of type preferences, based on Jung's model of psychological type.

The questionnaire assesses the classic dimensions of • Extraversion-Introversion• Sensing-Intuition• Thinking-Feeling• Judging-Perceptions

It is an excellent starting point for personal insight and can be used for both personal and group development.

PERSONALITY TESTSPERSONALITY TESTS

•Extraversion-Introversion•Outgoing or loner

•Sensing-Intuition•Fact or Gut Feeling

•Thinking-Feeling•Deciding by analysis or it feels good so I will go for it

• Judging-Perceptions•Making a decision or looking for more info

Best Business Owner

• Most Entrepreneurial?– Extravert 1-2-3-4-5 Introvert– Sensing 1-2-3-4-5 Intuition– Thinking 1-2-3-4-5 Feeling– Judging 1-2-3-4-5 Perceptions

• Most Creative?– Extravert 1-2-3-4-5 Introvert– Sensing 1-2-3-4-5 Intuition– Thinking 1-2-3-4-5 Feeling– Judging 1-2-3-4-5 Perceptions

Important• No preference is better or worse than another• No type/result is better or worse• Serve different purposes/roles• Think of them as just different e.g.

– tea or coffee– curry or fish ‘n’ chips– apple or banana

Catalyst

Catalysts are energetic change agents who are always looking for a new angle. Often pioneers and promoters of change, they look for active environments where they can discuss and debate new ideas. When with people they inject energy, innovation and fun into their activities.

A potential entrepreneur?

PERSONALITY TESTSPERSONALITY TESTS

Key points:• We have looked at personality types and preferences.• We all have preferences, but these may change over time

and you may not agree with the your test results – both of these are OK.

• Gather as much information about yourself as possible (know your weaknesses, we all have some, and know your strengths - you can use these to the full)

PERSONALITY TESTSPERSONALITY TESTS

• Imagine Polo mints became obsolete!

• What can be done with thousands and thousands of now useless Polo mints?

• Write down your own ideas• Discuss in groups – more ideas?

What could do with a paper clip?Together & Separately

CREATIVITY EXERCISECREATIVITY EXERCISE

Creativity…

…can be about using what you already have in a different way…coming up with new applications of things not in use

anymore…working together to combine ideas.

It is useful to break the concept down break the concept down (round, hole in it, can be crushed, dissolves in water, white, small… etc.)

CREATIVITY EXERCISECREATIVITY EXERCISE
