What is a Pronoun?

A Pronoun is a word which is used instead of a Noun.

The Pronouns are:IYouHeSheItWeYouThey

Some examples are:Tom and Kate went shopping.Tom and Kate bought everything.

Tom and Kate went shopping.They bought everything.

John was sick.John took his medicine.

John was sick.• He took his medicine.

The Pronouns as an Object.

Subject Object I Me You You He Him She Her It It We Us You You They Them

After a Preposition we use the Object.I gave a book to him.

Between you and me, he is rather lazy.

After a Conjunction we use the Subject.My cousin is younger than I.(am)

My mother bought more items than I .(did)

Possessive PronounsWe use Possessive Pronouns to show that

something belongs to someone.

The Possessive Pronouns are My Your His Her Its Our Their

Examples: That is my book. The dog found its ball. Sally took her cat to the vet. This is his pencil.
