TOEIC L&R is a test that measures English-language listening and reading skills used in daily life and global business. In Japan, the TOEIC L&R was administered in FY2018 not only to individuals but also adopted by approximately 3,100 companies, organizations, schools, and other groups. Companies have utilized the TOEIC L&R to evaluate the effectiveness of human-resource development and English training and to gauge the English skills of new employees; test scores are also used as a criterion for overseas trips or assignments, career advancement, and promotion. At schools, the test is utilized to evaluate student proficiency levels and measure the effectiveness of instruction, and also serves as an entrance examination or a standard for accreditation of units.
Since the evaluation standards of the TOEIC L&R remain constant over time, it is possible to track progress in English over an extended period of time. Thanks to these features, the TOEIC L&R has been widely used for a variety of purposes.

TOEIC S&W are tests that measure English-language speaking and writing skills used in daily life and global business. In Japan, the TOEIC S&W were administered in FY2018 not only to individuals but also adopted by approximately 370 companies, organizations, schools, and other groups. Companies use the tests as a way to evaluate potential recruits and new employees gauging the effectiveness of training, as well as a criterion for overseas assignments. Schools also utilize the TOEIC S&W as a means to evaluate the effectiveness of classes and overseas study and to assess academic performance, and also to assist students’ career development.
