BackgroundIt helps central bank relate closely with the public.
The C. N Kikonyogo Money Museum of Bank of Uganda was officially opened on 15th August 2006 during celebrations to mark 40 years of the bank.
Though relatively young, the C.N Money Museum has been able launch a few programs aimed at the Educating the public about the Central Bank of Uganda .
Role of Museum To preserve the history of Bank of Uganda as a monetary institution. A Museum is the best way an organization can keep its history alive.
To preserve and display currency as a national heritage
To Educate the public on the roles of Bank of Uganda
Museums are centers of Education.
The Educational role of Museums is at the core of their services to the public.
It is possible to use the Museum as a tool for monetary policy dissemination and financial literacy.

We have hosted scholars studying Uganda’s Numismatic heritage.
The Museum has partnered with the Bank’s Research Department to come up with simple ways of explaining monetary policy to the Public.
We record questions from the Public and where possible answer them.
The Museum shows documentaries about the Bank to the Public
