Manu vb Tintoré (Brussels, 1964) shows for the first

time at the gallery with an exhibition of sculpture

and works on paper of great symbolic power. The

ten years he worked as an agronomist in Africa,

Latin America and the Amazon before fully devot-

ing himself to art, inform the work of Tintoré and

are the foundation of an existentialist reflection on

our environment and our relationship with it.

Marked by a technique of frottage, Tintoré’s works

on paper play with the dynamic tension between

the slick paper surface and the abraded areas that

host the pigment, suggesting paths, cities, fields

and mountains isolated in a world devoid of hu-

man presence.

Since 2000, when he finished his studies at the

Escola d’Art Olot, Manu vb Tintoré has exhibited

in various galleries and public spaces in Belgium,

Paris and Catalonia. In 2015 he was awarded the

BBVA Ricard Camí Painting Prize and soon will be

the focus of a solo exhibition at the Fundació Caixa

Terrassa.

Manu vb Tintoré (Bruselas, 1964) se inaugura en

la galería con una exposición de escultura y obras

sobre papel que reflejan una profunda meditación

sobre el territorio. Los diez años que trabajó como

ingeniero agrónomo en África, América Latina y el

Amazonas informan la obra de Manu vb Tintoré

con una gran potencia simbólica que es el funda-

mento de una reflexión existencialista sobre nuestro

entorno y la relación que tenemos con él.

La obra de Tintoré juega con el dinamismo entre la

superficie lisa del papel con las zonas erosionadas

que acogen el pigmento y sugieren senderos, ciu-

dades, campos y montañas aisladas en un mundo

carente de presencia humana.

Desde el año 2000, cuando terminó sus estudios

en la Escuela de Arte de Olot, Manu vb Tintoré ha

expuesto en varias galerías y espacios públicos en

Bélgica, París y Cataluña. En 2015 fue galardona-

do con el Premio BBVA de Pintura Ricard Camí y

próximamente se podrá ver su obra en una ex-

posición individual en la Fundación Caixa Terrassa.
