Luaab Bahi-Dana (Mucilage)
روى ابن ماجه في سننه من حديث إسماعيل بن محمد الطلحي ، عن نقيب بن حاجب ، عن أبي سعيد ، عن عبد الملك الزبيري ، عن طلحة بن عبيد اهللا رضي اهللا عنه قال
دخلت على النبي صلى اهللا عليه وسلم وبيده سفرجلة ، فقال " دونكها يا طلحة ، فإنها تجم الفؤاد " . ورواه النسائي من طريق آخر ، وقال أتيت النبي صلى اهللا عليه وسلم
" وهو في جماعة من أصحابه ، وبيده سفرجلة يقلبها ، فلما جلست إليه ، دحا بها إلي ثم قال " دونكها أبا ذر ، فإنها تشد القلب ، وتطيب النفس ، وتذهب بطخاء الصدر
Talha bin Ubaid Ullah Radi Allaho Anh narrated that I went to Rasullullah Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam & he had a QUINCE in his hand, ProphetMuhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam said to me: "Take it O Aba Zar, this (Quince) makes the heart strengthen, makes the breath pleasant andrelieves (removes) the burden of the chest". (Nasaai)
Safarjal ~ Quince is a miracle of my Allah's creations, but because we have ignored this blessing, it is getting short day by day & I have a fear that itwill disappear. Even the seeds of Safarjal posses medicinal properties & they are expensive (SR 160/- per kg).
BahiDana is used for fevers, Pneumonia, opens nasal congestion, best for soar throat, cough & chest congestion.
Mucilage (Luaab) of BahiDana is given to clear the chest.
At low heat, boil two tablespoons of Quince seeds in 500 ml of water & you will see the pale glue coming out of the seeds, wait till water reduces tohalf, filtrate the Luaab & take when still hot. It will definitely strengthen the heart & remove choking in the lungs Insha'Allah. Best for patients withPulmonary Edema, Tuberculosis, Pulmonary Fibrosis, phlegmatic cough, diarrhea, etc.
