Pranamayakośa – Energy Body
All things energetic • Nerve impulses (electrical activity)
• Pranic body • Breath • Subtle body • Brain waves/states
ü Somewhat tangible – requires cultivation ü Moderate level of noticeable change ü Easy to alter intentionally superficially
• Vitality/life force = Prana • Vayu, breath body • Energy Body
Manomayakośa – Psycho-Emotional Body
Mind-stuff • Thinking mind (conscious & unconscious)
• Judgment • Emotions/Feelings • Perception • Externally derived “joy”
ü Very difficult to discern– clients may either 1) not relate or 2) over-relate.
ü Change is only notable by observing and comparing changes over time. ü tracking charts with anxiety scale is useful.
• The conscious and unconscious mind • Feelings, emotions, thoughts, perceptions • Externally derived joy
Vijnañamayakośa – Wisdom Body
Innate Wisdom • Intuition • ‘Inspires’ right action • Intellect • Contentment • Expresses “truth” (satya)
ü Obscured by the psycho-emotional body (Manomayakośa) ü Can only access in a calm state – requires cultivation during
healing process.
