BEYOND THE MIND

The mind has four states:

1. The awakening state.

It’s the level of consciousness in which we are right now. We experience the world through our 5 senses.

2. The dream state.

When we sleep and dream.

3. The dreamless state.

When we sleep deeply and are unconscious. It’s all black, we’re in “shut down” mode.

4. The absolute state.

When we’re awake without thoughts; there is just calm and peace. Easy to experience for a few seconds, hard to sustain.

The absolute state is the most similar to the pure, universal

consciousness.

By frequently going to the absolute state, we create the conditions to experience our True Self.

A tree or a mountain doesn’t have a mind.

It always remains in the pure,

universal consciousness.

In our awakening state we perceive the tree and the mountain as different.

They are first and foremost that

universal consciousness.

The same idea applies to us. Before being what our mind thinks we are,

we are that universal consciousness as well.

The mind in its awakening state makes a difference between you, me, the tree and the mountain, but prior to it

we are all the same thing.
