ALPHARIUS, PRIMARCH OF THE ALPHA LEGION
Other than his identical twin, Omegon, it was long supposed that since Alpharius
disdained the company of all of the other Primarchs save Horus, it was self-
explanatory why they chose the side with the Warmaster during the Heresy. However,
two years before the beginning of the Heresy, Alpharius and Omegon were apparently
contacted by a secret cabal of xenomorphs that somehow managed to convince them
that the only way to permanently defeat Chaos and so guarantee the survival of the
galaxy was to ensure that Horus was victorious. Whether this revelation was actually

THE BLACK LEGION
The Luna Wolves, the Sons of Horus, the Black Legion – three names, one infamous fighting
force. The Astartes of the Black Legion are the inheritors of Horus, first Warmaster of the
Imperium and most hated monster in the history of the human race. The Legion has set itself
against the Imperium of Man with a mono-maniacal precision that eclipses the efforts of all
other Chaos Legions. Across the Eye of Terror and beyond the Black Legion is the most
renowned and by far the largest of the heretic armies of Chaos, possessing the authority and
logistical support enough to have united the usually disparate followers of the Chaos Gods to
singular great causes on numerous occasions. The Black Legion always capitalise on any
expertise, technologies and manpower they deem useful, looting their enemies’ weapon
systems and striking alliances with renegade warbands, mercenaries and cultists of all kinds if
it serves their purposes to do so.
Black Legion:
All non-Fearless units may use the force commander’s Leadership value for any
Leadership test they are required to make (except Psychic Tests). While the designated
force commander lives all non-Fearless units are also Stubborn and they Regroup
automatically if they end a fall-back move within 12” of a Black Legion Independent
Character or Daemon Prince
Units numbering 10 or 20 models with the Combat Squads rule may be divided equally
into two squads of either 5 or 10 models. The usual Combat Squads rule applies to the
two squads. (see C:SM, p.51 for details).

Wind of Chaos – exactly as in C:CSM, p.88.
Blasphemous Runes: The Traitor Legions often etch their vehicles with the holy runes of the
Chaos Powers. These malign (and perhaps even sentient) sigils shift and pulse in the most
disturbing manner even as they are looked upon. Any enemy units that have been Tank
Shocked or that are testing to see whether they have been Pinned by vehicles or Assault Pods
marked with Blasphemous Runes must add +1 to their Morale roll. Models in Close-Combat
with a Dreadnought marked with a Blasphemous Runes must add +1 to any Morale tests they
are required to make.
31
Chaos Armour: This may be Warp-infused Power Armour or perhaps a harness of
ensorcelled iron and steel forged within one of the Eye of Terror’s hellish smithies. Whatever
the case, Chaos Armour counts as Runic Armour (see C:SW, p.61 for details).
Daemonic Mount: The creatures of the Warp come in all shapes and sizes and with all
temperaments and allegiances. Chaos Lords sometimes manage to either enslave or secure the
loyalty of such malefic creatures to serve as their mounts in battle. Chaos Mounts bestow the
following rules upon their riders: Cavalry; +1 Attack; +1 Toughness; May Run in the
Shooting Phase. 0-1 per army.
Daemonic Possession: BS:4. Vehicle ignores Shaken and Stunned results on the Vehicle
Damage Chart. At the end of the owning player’s turn, if the vehicle has suffered a Destroyed
Weapon or Immobilised result on the Vehicle Damage Chart, it may be repaired on a D6 roll
of 5+. This test may be made again at the end of every owning-player’s turn.
Daemon Weapon: Obeys the following rules:
Two-handed Power Weapon
Grants +1 Strength to Bearer
Doubles the bearer’s Attacks (to a maximum of 10) in Close-Combat.
Inflicts an automatic Perils of the Warp attack against its bearer if no Wounds are
inflicted by any successful Hits it makes in that round of Close-Combat. Note that

for attacks against models with no Wounds.

bestow and obey the following rules:
Power Weapon

to models with none. No Invulnerable Save may ever better 3+.

addition to the benefits of a Mark of Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh and Tzeentch (3+ Invulnerable
Save in total). All benefits are already included in Abbadon’s rules and profile. Abbadon
only.
32
Vampyre Blade: Daemon Weapon. Obeys the following rules:
Power Weapon
Any unsaved Wounds inflicted by the Blade immediately grant its bearer +1 Wound
(to a maximum of 10 Wounds)
+D6 Attacks in the Assault Phase.
Inflicts an automatic Perils of the Warp attack against its bearer if no Wounds are
inflicted by any successful Hits it makes in that round of Close-Combat. Note that
this happens regardless of whether the bearer is a Psyker or not, but does not happen
for attacks against models with no Wounds.
0-1 per army
Warp Conduit: Warp Conduits come in all shapes and sizes. Essentially, they degrade the
barriers between the Warp and Realspace around targeted Psykers. Enemy Psykers within 12”
of a Conduit must roll 1d6 after any successful psychic roll. On a 4+ the enemy Psyker suffers
an immediate Perils of the Warp attack. This means that effected enemies may suffer two
Perils of the Warp attacks if they rolled double 1’s for their preceding Psychic Test. The
effects of multiple Warp Conduits are not cumulative.
Warp Lance: Daemon Weapon. Obeys the following rules:
Two-handed Power Weapon
May fire in the Shooting Phase: Range: 12”, Strength: 6, AP: 3, Assault D6+1.

THE WORD BEARERS LEGION
The Word Bearers were the first of the Adeptus Astartes to embrace what they believed to be
the Truth of gods and men – truth, they maintain, that the Emperor sought to suppress for his
own selfish gain. The Word Bearers bend their every effort to spreading the teachings of the
Urizen, their divine Master, and preach against the stale and repressive creed of the Corpse
Emperor of Mankind. Of all the Astartes Legions the Word Bearers remain united as the First
Chosen and most faithful of all the servants of Chaos drawn from the Legiones Astartes.
Word Bearers:
All non-Fearless units are LD10 and they Regroup automatically if they end a fall-back
move within 12” of a Word Bearers Independent Character / Monstrous Creature
No models may possess any Chaos Mark whatsoever and may only purchase Icons of
Chaos Glory
Units numbering 10 or 20 models with the Combat Squads rule may be divided equally
into two squads of either 5 or 10 models. The usual Combat Squads rule applies to the
two squads. (see C:SM, p.51 for details).
WORD BEARERS ARMOURY / SPECIAL RULES
Accursed Weapon: Counts as a two-handed, Strength 6 Power Weapon. No other weapon
(except grenades) may be used by the bearer.
Aethyric Wings: Count as a Jetpack in all senses.
Blessed Crozier: Counts as a single handed Strength 5 Power Weapon.
Crozier Sacra: Daemon Weapon. Obeys the following rules:
Accursed Weapon (see entry above)
Warp Conduit (see entry below)
Any unsaved Wound = 2 Wounds
+D6 Attacks in the Assault Phase.
Inflicts an automatic Perils of the Warp attack against its bearer if no Wounds are
inflicted by any successful Hits it makes in that round of Close-Combat. Note that
this does not happen for attacks against vehicles.
0-2 per army.
44
Daemonic Possession: BS:4. Vehicle ignores Shaken and Stunned results on the Vehicle
Damage Chart. At the end of the owning player’s turn, if the vehicle has suffered a Destroyed
Weapon or Immobilised result on the Vehicle Damage Chart, it may be repaired on a D6 roll
of 5+. This test may be made again at the end of every owning-player’s turn.
Daemonologist: Chaos Sorcerer. Psyker; May choose Psychic Powers from the Book of
Lorgar list. Does not have to re-roll successful Invulnerable Saves against Perils of the Warp
attacks.
Note that
this happens regardless of whether the bearer is a Psyker or not, but does not happen
for attacks against models with no Wounds.
Familiar: May re-roll one failed Psychic Test per Player Turn.
Favoured by Chaos: Bestows +1 to existing Invulnerable Saves, or a 5+ Invulnerable Save
to models with none. No Invulnerable Save may ever better 3+.

favoured servants, granting them supernatural protection and amazing powers of persuasion
and intimidation that can rob their enemies of the will to fight. The Urizen’s Blessing counts
as a blend of all the following: Personal Icon; Icon of Chaos Glory; Instrument of Chaos,
Blessing of the Blood God and Aura of Acquiescence Chaos Gifts (see C:CD for details). If
one model in a unit possesses The Urizen’s Blessing, his entire unit benefits from the Icon of
Chaos Glory re-roll.
Vampyre Blade: Daemon Weapon. Obeys the following rules:
Power Weapon
Any unsaved Wounds inflicted by the Blade immediately grants its bearer +1 Wound
Inflicts an automatic Perils of the Warp attack against its bearer if no Wounds are
inflicted by any Hits it makes in a round of Shooting. Note that this happens

against models with no Wounds.
