Kolkata Blue
Yesterday I read this fantastic news/project
coming from India.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is
planning to paint Kolkata blue. On roads, onflyovers and even on trees, after the red rule of
the Left and the green wave of Poriborton,
Mamata is out to paint the city blue.
The chief minister has decreed that the city needsa neutral uniform colour code. If the government
has its way even the iconic yellow taxis of Kolkata
will be made blue.
And where it's not possible, like in WritersBuildings, the red turns to blue at night.
'If Jaipur is known as the pink city, Kolkata can
also be known as a blue city. Under the direction
of Mamata Banerjee we are using a uniform

I went to see the Museum of Design at Milan

years of Italian design. This version of the museum
(Alberto Alessi as curator, Mart Guix in charge ofthe exhibition design) was ok. Not good, not bad.
Out of the many things displayed, my favorite is
surely the "Pratone", a masterpiece designed by
Giorgio Ceretti, Pietro De Rossi, Riccardo Rosso in1971 (when they named themselves: "Gruppo
Strum") for Gufram.
The idea to have some 20 "Pratoni" (Big Lawn) one
